FN Browning Trombone Firing Pin

I recently disassembled a FN Browning Trombone that was handed down to me. I have never shot the rifle, so I stripped it down to check its condition. Upon removal of the breech block, I realized that the firing pin was broken fully in half. I assume that it has been broken for quite some time, and that my grandfather still used it with the broken firing pin. By chance does anybody know if I can possibly fix it, if a gunsmith can, or if I need to buy a new firing pin. As well as where I would be able to buy a new firing pin.

Thanks in advance!

I posted a WTB (Want To Buy) advert on the EE, in the rimfire parts section, and was able to buy a replacement from a respondent.

With both halves in hand, you can either make a copy, or find a welding guy that has the ability to weld the halves back together, too.

If I recall correctly those are flat, I have made several for similar 22 rifles out of saw blades, find one close to the right thickness, heavy hacksaw blade, sawsall, etc. You'll have to carefully grind it out and don't overheat until it turns blue. Small dremel cut off wheel works good to cut it out. Circular saw blades are usually good tough steel also. Easiest to find material the right thickness or a few thousands thinner.

When I was 10 or 11 years old. My uncle and I traced the shape of one on a sickle blade from the swather, cut and filed it. Dropped it in and it still works to this day. Should be able to find a sickle blade at a farm supply store.

I have about 18 browning trombone firing pins that are wire-cut from O1 steel hardened to about 50 Rockwell.
Unfortunately they need some finishing - they're about .125" thick and need to be about .110" That's a lot of hand polishing After they're to thickness there's about 5 minutes hand finishing with a dremel needed break edges and put some rads on a couple of places

Anyone know of a surface grinder in Edmonton?

I got one to thickness (+/-) and have stoned off the sharp corners ground some radii on the little "leg" that goes down near the middle so it will fit in the slot in the bolt, and have shaped the business end where the rim gets whacked.
I've PMd the OP. If it goes a week without response the pin is up for grabs.

OK... OP seems to have either got his firing pin somewhere or doesn't visit this thread any more...
Anybody else need a BT firing pin? I'm heading over to the EE rimfire bits and pieces thread...
