FN C1A1 sighting!

Uh-huh, but I was asking a question. A simple "No" or "Can't do it" would have sufficed. This guy is wanting to turn me into the Gestapo for having a "reckless attitude" over something that I am not, nor ever will do. It's ridiculous, and just betrays his desire to be a snitch, on somebody, for anything. This guy is itching to be a toadie. Nothing illegal is, has, or will occur here, except perhaps the pervasive mood of fear and oppression that this Hitler Youth guy is just chomping at the bit to instill here. Unfortunately, that isn't illegal, but it is one thing that SHOULD be. Free, law-biding people, should not live in fear. This guy, by his actions, would just love for that to be the case. "I'll turn you in! I'll turn you in!" For what dude? For asking a simple question? For a ""thought crime?"" It's outlandishly absurd!

That is sad to hear that the Army Cadets don't get to use the FNC1A1. When I was a Rocky Mountain Ranger, 20 years ago we were able to use them quite a bit, even for our Cross Rifle and Cross Rifle & Crown badges. We packed them on exercises, paraded with them, took them apart, cleaned and oiled them countless times. It is a great memory of mine, so sad for the next generation of shooters. -sniff, I'm gettin' a little misty, sniff-

the army cadets gets to use the C7 during the summer .

Just for interest, the Navy Version of the C1A1 is actually called the C1A1D. These were select fire, basically a C1 with a full suto selector. Must have been tought to fire that thing full auto, navy guys are way tougher than the army and airforce guys I guess!

Scott

I 'carried' the C2 for a bit, complete with the PLO style 'mag-bra', was not too bad on full auto but I'm 6'1, 230 so it was manageable;)

Fat Tony, the Chupacabra is restricted! I want to know where you got one, because I am turning you in for having it! Your ego is writing checks your body can't cash Fat Tony! If you keep taking up with Chupacabra's you're going to be sorry!

Best aburdist video derail ever bud! ;)

- Now if I told you where I got mine, everybody would have one and the Chupacabra's power would be much diluted which would make him 'extremely angry' and he would take it out on me! and we couldn't have that now could we? :D I had to make a special deal with the 'nine unknown men' to get one, other than that I can't really say any more. . . :p

Was it C1A1s the army cadets had, or EX1s. Most of the FNs I saw the cadets with were the EX1, used for either ceremonial/drill or to take camping on weekends. I do remember the cadets having the subcal devices, and I'm not sure they fit into the EX rifles, so they may have had both.

I recently picked up an EX-1. Still looking for an EX-2; thats going to be a little harder.

This was the first gun they issued to me when I got to my unit from TQ3, I think it was either a 6l or 8l, proably 8l, I think they had it in for me so they gave me the heavy gun. :p I recall that I mainly got to carry it around, almost never got to practice live with it, I don't know why that was.

You mean you forgot the serial number of the first rifle you were permanently issued? For shame!!

The 8L series had the removable front sight protectors, exactly the same as the C2A1. It was also retrofitted to earlier rifles when needed so that the future replacement of the front sight guard could be performed at first line levels.

My cadet corps were issued Enfield and then C1A1's. I wish that I could remember the S/N. I do remember that they were brand new when about 40 pieces or so were issued to us. While they were in the same lock up as the Militia, they were "our" corps issued rifles. Upon first inspection, two units had C2 change levers installed in them? They were removed for replacements prior to being assigned. Somebody wasn't paying attention that day.
