I have a few classic pistols, but would like a more modern one to round out the safe a little. FN has always been a top company in my books and while most of their pistols are prohib up here due to barre length, the FNS long slides are legal. So, looking at possible picking one up one of these days.

Anyone have any experience with these?

I have one and really like it. Mine is pretty new, and I have really only had it to the range once. For my hands, the ergos are very good. Take-down and cleaning were very easy. I won't comment on accuracy, because I'm not a great shot, so any accuracy issues are likely as much me as they are the FNS.

I did find some less than ideal things though. The sights on the first one I looked at look as though they were done by a 5 year old with a Q-Tip dipped in white-out. (The second one was much better.) I considered going with (trying) the Advantage Tactical Sights like these,

but in the end, I ordered a Hi-Viz Fiber Optic front sight from Select Shooting Supplies. It does not have a great trigger, but I expect that this will get better as the gun "breaks in". Finally, it has proven to be a challenge to find accessories for it. Comp-Tec makes a holster for it, but since it is not that common of a firearm, do not expect anyone to have a holster in stock. I also found a place in the US called PYNTEK that was willing to do a custom Kydex holster, but his website is not set up for shipping to Canada. I have also not been able to find any additional magazines. (It comes with 3 mags.)

All in all, I think that it has very good value for what you get, but it is definitely not flawless. FWIW, I got mine (a two tone with a black polymer frame & stainless slide) on sale at Al Flaherty's (Forum sponsor) for $639.

For the folks at Al Flaherty's, or anybody else who carries the FNS9 LS, are you planning to get in some mags for the FNS9 LS? I had it at the range yesterday, and the more I use it, the more I like it, but having a 4th mag would be very helpful for IDPA type use.
