FN FS 2000 in canada? possible?

Yes we can get them but the FN distributor won't import them for us and the US state department won't allow their export to Canada so right now we are SOL unless the distributor will import them direct from Belgium that is if FN Herstal can be convinced to do a batch for the Canadian market. We have been asking for this rifle and the PS 90 as well for quite some time.
 
Is R.Nicholls still the FN importer? I can't understand how that company is still in business the way they refuse to sell to people who can legally buy their products...
 
The reason is, FN Belgium made the FS2000 and PS90 specifically for the US market. There are none available anywhere else in the world. The US government has decided that only its citizens who live in the US can have one. It is currently not possible for even a US citizen to move and bring his FS2000 or PS90 to another country. It requires an export permit to do so. Take heart however, there are some on the EE, but they command high prices because of scarcity. I heard something like 6 legal PS90's and 11 FS2000's made it, but I am probably wrong.
 
Yup, R.Nicholls is retarded. I guess if enough, like a couple thousand, complained to FN about how useless R.Nicholls is perhaps they would get around to doing something at some point, possibly, perhaps, maybe.
 
Maybe someone well placed in the firearms business (and who is very familiar with RNichols standard of service) would do us a favour next time he runs into someone from FN and mention this little travesty. Many of these manufacturers don't know how badly some (well, one) of their Canadian "reps" suck - Taurus had no clue, but things will be changing there.
 
The United States is the largest market in the world, and the 3rd largest country. In order for any foreign firearm company to tap into that market, the US governement requires them to have manufacturing facilities and employ Americans. Canada, isn't even on the radar for these firms.

This has NOTHING to do with R Nicholls or your perceived lack of care from said company. This has EVERYTHING to do with national politics and market forces. That's it.

The few times I've had to deal with R Nicholls have been good experiences. The bad parts have been limited solely by governement red tape. It sucks, but it's mostly foreign politics and nothing else.

You know in FN's case, it's Belgian politics that limits the sale of what is considered military equipment to anyone. Governments as a general rule, do not want you running around with this stuff. Canada is so very open, I didn't understand myself until I dug into it.
 
I cannot remember whom posted it but he had talked directly to a FN respresentative and the rep told him he was unaware that there was such a demand for these firearms and that if the distributor put in an order for a reasonable quantity they would have no problems selling these firearms to Civilians as they are civilian semi auto rifles. The only problem was that the distributor doesn't give two pennies for civilian sales so no order has or will be made.

Yep. R Nicholls is almost as bad as the liberal government is.

They wont even sell HK LEM triggers to Canadian citizens. Pretty much anything you COULD get from HK if R nicholls was willing.... (UMP barrels im sure, various other HK parts, FN parts etc...)

alas they are elitist "LEO/Mil. only" types that like to fart on Canadian citizens.....

MD Charlton is a law enforcement market authorized dealer (they get the good stuff to sell), not the importer. FN Sports / RNicholls is the importer - unless things have changed in the last couple of months - I'll ask Murray when I see him.
