FN FS 2000 in canada? possible?

FS2000's are availible in other countries than the US... so it is only a matter of finding an exporter in the foreign country.

I'm told that FS2000's and PS90's are availble in New Zealand for example.

As cool as the FS2000 is, I hate that it uses so much plastic. Apparantly the only parts not plastic are the barrel and the bolt.

PS90's would be nice, if it wasn't in such an expensive/rare caliber

Not quite Nicorette, I owned one and there is alot of metal inside. You are right that there are some plastic parts that made me think twice, but it shot and worked great. Pretty neat and well designed (with a few short commings).

The reason is, FN Belgium made the FS2000 and PS90 specifically for the US market. There are none available anywhere else in the world. The US government has decided that only its citizens who live in the US can have one. It is currently not possible for even a US citizen to move and bring his FS2000 or PS90 to another country. It requires an export permit to do so. Take heart however, there are some on the EE, but they command high prices because of scarcity. I heard something like 6 legal PS90's and 11 FS2000's made it, but I am probably wrong.

I found this ironic that I remember there was a drug bust which brought international that siezed FS2000, PS90, and 5-7. I guess they didn't have to get export permit :)

They're all listed in M.D. Charleton's catalogue, including the 12 ga, so I guess Canadian LE agencies can have them. Man, that thing sure makes good toilet reading.

That may be true, but it's for the same reason PS90's are available in Canada. I spoke with FN in Belgium and was informed the PS90 was for the US market only.

New Zealand is very open in their firearms legislation. Automatic firearms are still permitted for example. Would have been easy enough to import one prior to the US barring their legal export.

Any 'military' guns from the US now are export controlled. Don't you find it funny Canada is importing AR15's from the UK? I know I do.

I think you mean the P90 and F2000. The PS90 and FS2000 are the civilian counterparts and were made specifically for the US market. At least that is what FN told me.
