hello every one,

I have buy an FN FS2000 from questar and between my barrel and the upper I have a loose about .010 inch. So the barrel is not tite into the upper. this loose is between the barrel and the front sleeve (washer) into the upper. so what can I make to solve this probleme. I think is because the sleeve is hold littlebit to large.

thanks to help me.

No, the loose is not between the upper and lower ! it 100% real problem.

The barrel is not loose the design is such that there is play in the sleeve and barrel your estimate of play is not correct. Take it out and fire it and you will find there is no problem with it , the firearm is within spec as per the FN Armorers manual.

Well that was hard to read, but I don't think that this is a problem. I think that it supposed to be like that but I could be wrong. You should go check out http:// fnforum.net/ and see what's what.

The responses on the FN forum were, shall we say, less than helpful, from what I read there. Mine does the same -- if you remove the upper from the lower and gently shake it you can feel the barrel moving very very slightly. I'm guessing it's normal -- I'll report back after I have a chance to fire it this weekend.

I have a factory barrel on mine - it is rock solid in the barrel assembly - or 'upper receiver' if you will.

I would be concerned about play.

Doesn't matter what kind of firearm, the barrel should never move independently of the receiver. Even slightly. The only exception would be a handgun when the slide moves back. Otherwise, with slide fully forward, there should be no barrel movement.

Hmmm...now I am a little concerned! I've contacted FN customer service and I'll post their reponse when (if) I hear back.

When you separate the lower from the upper is there any movement? Mine barrel is tight when assembled, and there's just a very little bit of side to side movement (at the muzzle end) when upper and lower are separated.

Let me clarify.
If you separate (or leave it together - doesn't matter) the barrel assembly and grab ahold of the flash suppressor in one hand and the housing by the gas valve in the other and 'wiggle' them, you will feel slight 'play' - this is the barrel and housing flexing independently of one another - that is normal.

If you look at the connection between the chamber end with the housing and rail - these are solid - as they should be.

Perfect -- that describes mine exactly.
