FN made Browning take down .22cal

I wouldn't pay that much.
The FN marked semi's do not bring the same money as the Browning marked ones.
I had one of the FN semi's, bought it for $150 at a gun show, traded it on another gun at a store for $150. It functioned well, in good shape but a little gray on the receiver - thin bluing.
 
$150 eh, that's less then half of what he is asking. Was $150 a great deal or is that the average? Why are the FN ones worth less? I thought it would be the other way around?

I think it is the other way around. The Japanese ones are worth less than the Bellgian ones at least to collectors. Are you a collector type or do you want a shooting gun to use? If it shoots good and looks good it's probably worth $350. I have no idea what it's worth as a collector.
I have a Japanese one and I don't really like the bottom eject. I bought it for it's break down feature which is good but I find with .22 I like to support the front of the gun with my hand close to the trigger guard which is hard to do with a bottom eject as the casings end up bouncing off your wrist or going down your sleeve. -C.D.
 
Thanks Can-down, I just want it for shooting/camping not collecting. The blueing and wood are in good shape and I know the peep sight is rarer and is only on the older models. I'm willing to pay $350 but only if it's fair.
 
Clarify the gun markings.
Does it say Browning on the gun?
Or just FN?

The $150 was a great deal.
If it is only marked FABRIQUE NATIONALE, then you will find that it is not worth as much as a Browning marked one. This is true of both the semi's and the trombone.

Shooters Choice has a Browning on their web site for $395.
Williams Arms has a Japanese Browning on their site for $375.

It would have to be mint before I would pay that high a price. There's been some really nice Brno semi and other makes on this site for close to the same money. If your looking for a fun plinker several 10-22 on here for around the $250-$300 mark-----my 2 cents worth----Cowboy
