FN Mauser questions

So I picked up this mauser at auction the other day. It's the first one I've had and I have a few questions about it. As far as I can tell its an FN Model 24 but any help would be appreciated. The stock is in pretty rough shape and who ever had it before me did a horrendous job of getting rid of the cosmoline in the receiver but the bolt is still smooth as butter. The bore is a little dark but the rifling is strong. After making sure the chamber was cleaned out I brought it to the range and shes a straight shooter. So basically I'm just looking for any information you guys have on these FN Mausers. I don't know much about them and I'd like to know more about it. I paid 230 for it but I don't know how much they're worth. Did I over pay for a decent shooting rifle or get ripped off? Also note the serial number is 1000, I thought that was pretty interesting. Lastly there's no crest on top of the receiver, not sure if that's normal or not.

Cheers!

I have nothing to offer on identifying etc. I just like that the serial is 1000. I would have bought it just for that alone.

The model 24 is an intermediate length 98 action that is otherwise pretty much the same as a Czech VZ24. FN delivered 100,000 to the newly formed Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes in two batches in the 1920's. After that the Yugos began building their own version. Most were refurbished in 1947 as the Yugo model 24/47. Does yours have a crest on the receiver ring? If it still has the original crest these are tougher to find, many were scrubbed by the Yugos.
