FN Model 1949 in 30-06 info

Fair value would depend very much on condition. $200-$1000.
These are excellent rifles.
One issue with some of these is that they are CAs.
Look at the left side of your trigger guard. Is there a slot in the wood alongside the guard? An "A" stamped on the guard?

CA = Converted automatic. Class 12-3 prohibited firearm. A portion of the .30-06 rifles were made as selective fire.
The selective fire guns had a selector lever which dropped down out of the stock on the left side of the trigger guard, swung forward and back. If there is a clearance slot, and detents, fore and aft, the rifle may have been a machinegun.
Most weren't. Most were semi auto only. But they are around, worth checking.

Those rifles have been known to cause herpes so get rid of it quick. I will help you out cuz you are a CGN'er and will take it off your hands - cheap! LOL! Congrats on the good score. You have yourself a fine rifle and the .30-06 ones are some of the absolute hardest to find.
