These are all the markings I can find on it. There appears to have been a marking of some sort on the barrel below the rear sight but it was either worn off or never properly stamped.

I'm not an expert , but I have one. I seem to recall that they stopped making that model FN in 1952ish? I can't remember where I read this tho...
 
I’m thinking of refinishing the stock and re-bluing the metal.

Good idea? Bad idea?

It’s in poor condition, surface Rst on outside of barrel, some pitting in the bore, rifling is worn but it still shoots well. Shot a 2”, 10 shot group at 40 yards this morning.

The stock is dinged up and oil stained as evident in the pictures.

I should add I’ve been told this is a very early model, possibly built between 1914-1918, if that has any bearing.
 
Pretty sure TradEx unloaded a whack load of those early style a couple years back, sub$200 range prices.

Value is in the shooting.
