I have an old style fn semiauto just like the browning takedown. Anyone can help me as to approximate value of something like that?

I love these old guns! I've seen VG-EX examples go for as high as $550 and fair to good cond with homemade checkering as low as $185. Nice glossy finish on wood with bright blueing and VG bore should get you around $400 even with a minor scuff or ding. From your pick, I see some faded blueing and a dull finish with some dings. If the bore is shiny, and there's no rust freckling, I would feel comfortable offering $285-300 max. In the end a gun is worth exactly as much as somebody is willing to pay. Hope this helped.

Generally, the ones that I've seen have been in pretty rough shape. I bought mine for $225 and ended up having to throw another $50 at it to get the gunsmith to tune it up. It shoots ok now but tends to be picky with ammo used and its a real bugger to feed unlike my new one. Having said that, its a cool little rifle and a real piece of history.

Great let me know how you like it,... I do have moments when i think that maybe i should have kept it, but i guess mortgage comes first... that's where the cash went hehehe. turns out my account was in a hole so I want to call this a balanced budget.
