Would someone be kind enough to properly ID this rifle. It has been properly restocked. Venezuela chambered 7x57. Argentina originally chambered for 7.65 Mauser, converted to 7.62 NATO and a 20 round mag. Columbia chambered .30-06, but had a thin stamped butt plate. Egypt went for 8x57. FN built 125 000 '49's in .30-06. It's not Columbian or Belgian. The Belgian Congo rifles were .30-06.

The rifle will be up for sale as soon as I get a proper ID. Thank you for your assistance.

looks like ex belgian with ground receiver, the mag release is not original IIRC, if it was 308, the mag would be different as well. 7X57 would have had a muzzle brake. Looks like a 30-06 stock. The ACA marking looks familiar, can't remember what country.

Most likely Belgian. About 120,000 30-06 rifles made with Belgium getting the largest share. Common for ex-Belgian rifles to have the "ABL" marking ground off.

Mag lever is not issue as the FN49 was not designed for quick mag release, being reloaded by charger. The mag body looks like standard issue.
