FN49 Belgian Contract .30-06 from Wolverine Sale

Here is the Belgian contract SAFN49 in .30-06 from the Wolverine Surplus Firearms Sale.

I haven't had the time to do a detail clean-up yet, but I wanted to post some pictures of her before I did. I will try and post some more when I get the chance to clean her up and take her to the range.

There is the odd ding in the stock, but other than that, it is almost fresh from arsenal rebuild or unissued. The internals are minty and it still has a good amount of cosmoline in the receiver and barrel. Should make an awesome very limited shooter!

The bayonet is just thrown in an old Canadian web frog. The serial number on the bayonet matches the scabbard and both are in excellent condition.

Nicely done! I had a Belgian contract FN49 serial 4186, but sold it in a fit of downsizing. Try to get a hold of Wayne Johnson's FN49 book (I believe it may now be out of print) --- it's a pretty nice reference to the various contracts that were produced.

I particularly like that bayonet!

I have all three of the main books out there. The latest one from Collector Grade Publications is, in my opinion, the most extensive and best. It is called "The Fn49, The rifle that ran out of time"
