What is your recommendation for an Optic given the accuracy of this rifle?

A nice nightforce is on the list, but a Hensoldt is a definite consideration.

One of mine is mounted with a S&B 5X25X56 PMll and it's a stellar combo... JP.

I recommend you use whatever scope you think will suit you. It won't change the accuracy of the rifle.

My take on optics is my personnel point of view, i didnt read that in book or see it on the net...

I firmly believe and i do it all the time with any whortwhile firearm, i apply what i call proceding by elimination...

First if the rifle is inherently very precise, i will mount the best rings and the best scope, then i will work out the best load for this particular firearm, then what i am left with, it's the operator behavior...

Since, i am fullproof on my material components, the only place i have to make progress is on my shooting, then it's easy to concentrate on only one point instead of 2 or 3...

Take it for what it's work, i work perfect for me and give me great results... JP.

I've got a FNAR Standard on the way and was looking at using the Vortex Viper 4-16x50 with MRAD FFP reticle -- would I be able to get away with using low rings or will I need something taller?

Something cheap until you have the rifle in hand, and know the accuracy potential. Might be a 1-4x20 kind of rifle, like my BAR.

The big 56mm len of my S&B fit perfect with Badger Ordonance 34mm medium height rings... JP.
