Yes, those rails are easily removed with an allen key. They are the first thing I took off when i got mine.

I will probably take it out to or run my Buis for a trial, it is nice to have the option... JP.

At 8.9 pounds plus, mag+ammo+optic+rings, will add up to 11 pounds +, it is definitely not a hunting rifle except if you hunt from a stand ( i never do)... JP.

It's a bit heavy, not a hike in type rifle but still ok to carry. Part of the reason why I was looking at the synthetic model with fluted barrel

I had the opportunity to shot a Hog Stalker the other day. Absolutely impressed!! Shooting Winchester 150 gr power points and Nosler 168 custom competitions. ALL 3 shot groups were under an inch at 100 yds! (6 or 8 groups in total) This was at -20 C and I was freezing my butt off! I shot it and immediately ordered one for myself!

irunguns.ca has the Competition model for sale. If you want the regular FNAR you should contact Irunguns and see if they can get one. Otherwise you'll need to buy from another US dealer and do and FFL transfer to Irunguns who will import it for you.

Caramel are you running the BUIS on the Competition model or the Heavy model? I ask because I'd like to know how it is possible to set up the Heavy model with BUIS as it does not come with a mount for the BUIS front sight. Any help would be much appreciated.

The Comp and the heavy model share the sublime Heavy Match fluted 20 inch barrel with the Match chamber, i dont intend to run the BUIS and the heavy model the way i was told is not D&T for the front mount but i dont see why it could not be done... JP.
