Ret'd Horseman 33 1/3yrs service about 11 yrs ago. Dedicated hunter/fly fisher. Trvl to Alta twice yrly, once for long-range bombardment of gophers and later-on for grain fed White Tail. Prefer magnums for five species of deer and of late, limit self to 7mm Rem or for about last decade prefer Boss equipped Win300 out to lazered 468Y. I usually use .223 with success out to 600Y using 69gr BTHP but they're pain and take forever to reload, so mostly stick to 50/55 NosBTs for 300M and in. Lately picked up custom 6XC I'm in process of fine-tuning with hopes to make the #3 profile bbl a reasonable ground-squirrel demolisher out to about 500M. The 6XC is replacing Sav FP10 I was going to convert to .260 Rem but could not resist the exotic pristine wildcat that came with 900 brand new Tubb 6XC brass. My field of expertise leans towards ballistics and I have testified about GSWs pertaining to forensic pathology, but I thought that MrBallsy was too much over the top for a user name.
For those that know me...M66 M70 M700 M1187 & 12FVSS are some of my favorite numbers. I'm older than dirt and have probably chewed about the same amount of venison bone as the average Timber Wolf. I'm opinionated and on the verge of cranky. They used to pay me to be civil; they don't pay me anymore! Some dip-wad from the Puzzle-palace(Ottawa HQ) called me recalcitrant once; he may have been right.
