I just discovered this gun. Anybody shoot one, what's it like? How long have they been made? Thanks.

had one, practically gave it away as I hated it and needed cash.

IMHO, the trigger was awful, and my shooting experience with it wasn't very pleasant.

I am now a big Sig Sauer fan after shooting a P226, and a P239. Accurate, and pleasant to shoot. Just my experience.

Well it finally arrived late yesterday (all matte black). Only got to have a quick look over/function check before the wife had me doing other things. First thoughts...I LIKE IT. Not as large as I was lead to believe from my readings (I'm a big guy though...). Everything functioned as expected but I did find the slide stiff (almost on par with my Colt 10mm). The checkering on the grip is pretty aggressive (I've only tried the flat backstrap so far). I'm hoping to take her out on the weekend and put her up against the trusty 1911. I'll see if I can get some pics in there also (who doesn't love those :D).

I did get the FNP-45 out to the range yesterday. Didn't get to take the pics I wanted to as wifey wouldn't let me take her camera (it was snowing at the Poco range). I can say that the gun definitely can shoot better than I can. Nice even trigger pull, felt great. I'd say it shoots quite a lot like my Beretta M9 (except for the larger recoil). I did not have a single malfunction with the ammo I used (Blazer Brass). A couple of side notes...the gun is much more balanced when the magazine has rounds in it. It wasn't a detriment and I barely noticed but smaller person's might find that to make the gun top heavy. I also found the rounded backstrap to fit me better (i've got big hands). My son (who is almost as big as I am) found the gun to be on the large size for him and preferred the ergonomics of the 1911. Overall, this gun has become my new favourite .45...fit/finish are top notch (but I scratched the polymer handle already...long story and I feel stupid even mentioning) and the fact you get a 3rd magazine makes this a winner in my book.

What's a "polymer handle"?

sooo, anyone else have this gun? was thinking of picking one up from Questar, the one in FDE, looks sweet. does anyone know if the safety is just a decocker or decocker&safety(cocked and lock)?
