FNX-45 worth the money?

Been looking at getting back into the pistol game and have seen a few of these FNX-45 pistols around. They look good. 10 rounds of 45. Etc.

Have had a few 45s and really like the round. Just can't find another 1911 with a bobbed frame that fits my hand good. Other than my old sig nightmare

Anyone have any experience with these. Is the tactical model worth the extra 5-600$ ?

Also I have been looking at the glock 21SF and I like to tinker but the fnx already has most of the things I want. (Milled slide for RMR, longer barrel, etc)

Any input would be appreciated

I have one, not the tactical model.....its an awesome pistol

Nice trigger, good sights and easy to take apart and clean.

Glock 21 is a great pick too, get both!
 
Owned the FNX45 Tactical, awesome gun. The only reason I sold it was the cost to feed it regularly.

The tactical model to me was worth it as I mounted a Trijicon RMR on it, if you're not going to put a red dot on there then I'd say you can do without it.
 
I have the non tactical version, and it is my favourite .45. I even like it better than the SIG P220.
 
I have the very similar FNP45. Awesome gun, definitely worth the money, but I find the HK45 just fits my hand a bit better. Another guy I know says the exact opposite, so it depends on the shooter.
 
If you like the size of the fnx45 then go for it. I personally prefer the thinner profile of the HK45. Since we are not allowed to have hi capacity mags, I don't see the need to buy the FN is fo five.
 
Out of 8... 45 ACP, i sold 5, keeping in order...

Glock 21 gen 4 ( upgrade 3.5 pounds springs and connector kit)

These 3 were the most accurate and with the best trigger...
The 5 others, i sold were...

Sig P220R
HK45 CT
Dan Wesson 1911
Sig Fastback 1911
Colt Gold Cup 1911
They were all very good pistols but they were behind the first 3...
Now i am not decided yet but i may pick up this Colt Special Govt 1911 Clay is expecting, it could change the order of the first 3... JP.:)

All great info. Seem to be a solid gun if you like the larger framed pistols. ( blessed with big hands here haha).

Is there any aftermarket for them? Trigger kits?

I personally wouldn't change the trigger. It's nice and crisp. Mr noir did a good review of the fnx 45 tac if you want to see a bit more
