UPDATE: Rock Solid Cases does fantastic work. Better than expected. Well worth the money for a case that fits perfectly.

Anyone have a source for professional cutting Pelican case foam in or around Edmonton?

Spending plenty on the rifle setup, so figure a proper case might be justified.

Hey Matt,

try underwater kinetics, in west edmonton, 155 st and 117 ave or so

also pelican on west end at 178 st or 184 street and 103 ave

just take foam in with your tracing and they may cut it for you

also a custom case maker on south side but cannot remember the name right now

Look in the DIY section of CGN and you'll see some ideas to make your own hot wire foam cutter cheaply. The nichrome wire is easily found on line or at hobby shops.

Cutting foam.............buy a used electric craving knife like at Value Village or thrift shop and DIY. Super easy

Foam by mail will sell whatever you need. They have a Canadian site but the price is in US$. You can buy foam cutters on amazon.ca but they are easy to make. Olfa blades work well. Always made a mess with the electric knife

I have always just left the foam as is, and let it compress to hold the rifle or handgun in place. Then cases are universal, not specific for one gun.

My last pelican style case the foam was too dense and this technique would not work,
So I ripped it all out and now my soft case fits inside!
