It is official, he is serving his sentence from his charges in the U.S. Now if only our gov't hadn't let him away with just a fine. It could well have been the last time he set foot on Canadian soil. As soon as he is able he will probably be back with Stan Reiser @ Alberta Trophy Hunts.

This is where he used to stay and film for his Alberta or Canadian portion of his DVD's. If I recall from the articles I read before he worked here illegally as a guide as well in order to stay past the 7 day period for American Waterfowl hunters in the Western Provinces. I know it was the charges in Alberta that led to his not filming in Canada for his last DVD, insteadf he went to New Jersey for the 15 bird/man limit for their Early Canada Goose Season. Hope the douchebag stays on his side of the border upon his release and I hope this leads to the Fed's keeping a watchful eye on some of these Outfitters as well.

Careful with your statements, you might want to post a link to those articles before you start making accusations on a public forum. Not saying it isn't true, just saying to make sure you put down facts or you could be in doo-doo as well. ;)

he cant legally cross now he cant even own firearms for the rest of his life in the US

That is not so, whatever the type of charges it was he had in the U.S( something to do with the Lacey Act) they were dropped in lieu of a plea and he is able to keep his firearms. He was given a two year ban from hunting, after that he can go at it again.

Ok so I went and found my old article from his day in court. He had been charged with 23 felony offences under the Lacey Act and all were dropped in liue of a plea to two misdemeanors with fines totalling $100.000 and a 13 month jail term. He retains his right to bear arms and is allowed to hunt again at the conclusion of his two year loss of hunting priviledges. I am still trying to find the article with the Canadian information.

I will go back and see if I can find them in a previous post I had. If memory serves that was one of the charges on the docket. If I am wrong then my bad but I shall do my best to confirm that!

I emailed Cabela's this fall to enquire if they were going to keep selling his products given his convictions for a long list of offences in the US and Canada. I got a prompt reply back that they had not ordered any of his products since the charges had been laid and that they were going to liquidate their current inventory. I just did a quick search on cabelas.com and it looks like they have removed all his calls. Only thing I could find was one of his videos.

Kudos to them.

As a point of clarification, NRA hunters in AB can purchase as many 7 day waterfowl licences as they wish, there's no limit on the number of licences per season. SK has proposed they same 7 day licence for NRA waterfowlers for 2012, again with no limitation of the number of licences per season a NRA hunter can purchase - in SK upland birds are managed via a tag system and season limits and would not be affected by the proposed changes.

Seems strange that Foiles could have gotten away with any illegal activities while hunting with Stan Resiser. All 3 prairie provinces outfitter associations (APOS, MLOA, & SOA) claim that one of the primary benefits of mandatory guiding for NRA waterfowl hunters would be 100% compliance with all regulations.

I wish I would have saved all my files before I reformatted my PC and installed a new OS on it. I only kept what I thought necessary but I know I had a few articles about the Canadian charges. In one it claimed an Alberta Outfitter co-operated by exchanging info in lieu of charges. Maybe I should stand corrected and not assume a particular outfitter but all his DVd's featuring Alberta list only the Outfitter I named so I assumed. My bad, I shouldn't do that, my mother used to say "ASSUME" stands for makes an ASS of U and Me. I will keep researching the subject and see what I can find. If I owe the Outfitter an apology I will man up and do so......

By no means was I defending Reiser, I'm of the firm belief that birds of a feather flock together. My only point was that NR hunters can purchase as many 7 day waterfowl licences as they wish. As for Foiles' illegal activity under the supervision of Reiser, it was meant to illustrate the absurdity of APOS, MLOA, & SOA's claim that mandatory guiding would eliminate illegal activities by NR waterfowlers.

I was under the belief from some reading I had done that they could purchase as many as they wanted as well but they couldn't run con-currently, that there had to be a period of 7 days between permits where they had to return to U.S before they could start using the next permit? Clearly when Foiles states on Fallin Skies 5 that "Hey Man, that was 60 days straight in Canada but we had to get home to get the Strait Meat Duck Club ready for the season, we would have liked to stayed longer with our good friend Stan", then he isn't heading back between permitted hunts as I read somewhere. Maybe it was just a proposal I read?

APOS??!! That outfit is nothing but a big joke on all Alberta hunters who respect the law!

You'll never eliminate all illegal activity in any business, there are always bad apples.
And naturally, we like to rag on the non residents. Poaching is poaching and it's not specific to any nationality.
Of course then there are those residents of Canada who have no seasons, license requirements or bag limits and we're all fine with that and we don't call that poaching..............

What bothers me with Foiles and all involved is the treatment of the birds and the wasting of the ones they shot.
