This subject has probably been thoroughly discussed here in the past, but my search didn't show any relevant threads... So here we go, with apologies in advance to those tired of this subject

Given: a pistol grip only shotgun, without a stock (e.g. Mossberg 500 Just In Case).
The dilemma: the idea of shooting some seriously loaded shells (e.g. 00 buck shot and up) without a stock is a little intimidating. WeaponsEducation seems to agree :)
The question: what does the respected audience think about an idea to install a top-folding stock (e.g. ATI) on such a firearm?

Specifically for JIC, it looks like it's still going to fit into the container (as there's plenty of space around the actual shotgun).

Thoughts?

I went with a Choate top folder on my 500A.

It's all steel, locks up solidly with no play and is the ugliest folder in the world.

Choate customer service is incredibly good. I called them for a quote on a new pad for the folder and they sent me a new pad and screws and spring, free from the US!!!!!!!!

Middle gun, 3rd from the top.

It's pretty handy when it is folded but I shoot high without the stock extended.
