Has anyone here cut/plucked the foam in their hard case to accommodate a full length bolt rifle with a folded stock? Do you put the stock side up or down? If down, do you fully cut through the bottom foam layer? If up, do you need to cut the top out at all?
Full rifle length =44in, folded length = 34in. I would be leaning towards the Plano All weather 42in case if folded, or I might have to go with a double rifle case (for 2.5x the price) and center it because the rifle is quite tall with the scope. Cabelas xtreme long gun does not fit.
