I know the GSG16 is banned and who knows where the TM22 will be, given recent reports about new lists coming out, but just have a question for owners of both.

I have owned the GSG16 for quite some time and it's alright, but I am not crazy about the amount of plastic. I am a newer owner of the TM22 and do like it, but I don't have a long history of use.

For those who have owned both for a longer period of time, what are your thoughts on both? Reliability wise, accuracy wise, ease of use, etc. Even things like warranty support, etc. I know, there are a lot of factors such as type of ammo used, level of shooter's skill and proficiency, etc, but all things considered, if the CPC unbans the 2024 OIC guns and the GSG16 is available to use again, which one would be your go-to. I need to shoot my TM22 a bit more often since I just picked it up in December (and I haven't taken it apart yet), but curious of everyone else's experiences if you had to choose one or the other.

Or for a more funnier take...let's say they are all banned and the federal government confiscates what's left from the stores and they are sending a GSG16 or a TM22 to some poor conscript in the Ukraine...which one would the conscript be better suited / better chances of in using (given that he's like going to likely die either way thanks to the Canadian government furnishing these lovely "weapons of war lite").

I have the 16. Seems a decent little gun but not accurate by any means. My all time fave 22 semi is my gsg15.... excellent firearm for what you are paying. My nephew, new to shooting, hit golf balls at 20 yards 6/10 the first time he picked it up. Different size than the 16 yes, but light and handy.

I've had/used both of them. I had the Dlask short barrel conversion on the GSG16 but still pefered the derya
The 16 just doesn't feel like a "real" rifle with all that plastic and mushy trigger where as the Derya looks and feels like a proper rifle
when you shoot the GSG16 you almost expect nerf darts to come shooting out of it lol

Derya TM22 is accurate enough to hunt with imo, and works well to teach fundamentals.
But even being "Totally Metal" it uses plastic in the wrong places (e.g. magazine follower used as bolt hold will self delete rapidly).
Overall I don't think either the Derya or GSG would be on the shopping list if not for our theatrical gun control (better alternatives exist)?

I like my Derya Tm22. Have some friends that have the Gsg 15, but by the time it came to use them the ban came into effect so no real advice on those. Great gun, works really good. Was a more cheaper version of the TM22 through irung uns for a while there, unsure if still able to order, they also had the 25 round mags for really cheap too. I would recommend the Tm22 as a good starting semi auto still under $600. If you got more cash to spend, the CZ 512 Tactical is really good and accurate, but they are around a grand if available, and there mags are expensive. Cheaper for me would be the winchester wildcat. sub $300 all the time, shoots well with just about any type of brand and factory iron sights. something the CZ and Tm22 dont come with.
