For my firts 17hmr

I have the Savage 93R17 GLV, and I like it a lot. The Marlin also looks like a nice rifle.

The only thing I don't like about my Savage is the magazine and catch.

I've got a Marlin 917V heavy barrel that is a tack driver. Only complaint is that the 7 shot clip dosn't feed that well, no problems with the 4 shot.

Marlin 917VSF = One hole @ 100yds. I'm so impressed.
Pros- Heavy stainless, fluted barrel. Laminated stock.
Cons- Trigger needs work or replacement. Heavy rifle to carry. Won't feed hollowpoints well (who needs 'em with a .17?)

T/C ProHunter does the job for me! Maybe a bit over built for a .17 but man it is a shooter and you can't argue with the quality.

I got a 93R17 BVSS. Most accurate gun I own. Had a 93R17FV before and it shot just as good. Hold a savage then a marlin and figure out which you like best. they both shoot just as good as each other. Savage has a better trigger so that sold me.

I just bought a savage 93r17 gv, it has the wood stock with heavy barrell and also has the accu trigger. It the magazine does catch a little when you try and put it in, but I am noticing it getting smoother as I use it more.

Marlin 17V. Change trigger to Rifle Basix. Then all you have to get used to is not missing your target.Ever again.
