I have the opportunity for getting a fixed 32x AO Tasco for a reasonable price. The question is do I need that much. I have a 6-24 which seems to be enough, but I could use a bit more at 100yds. I only target shoot, and just started trying my hand at benching last year with the equipment I have. What do the rest of you BR and target guys use. I know tasco is not the best brand of scope by any means.

What type of rimfire shooting do you do? Competition or just recreational ?
If competition - what do the rules allow? What rifle is it going to be mounted
on? Does the rifle have the potential to benefit from more magnification?
If the scope is not to your liking can you dispose of it readily? If you plan on competition - what is your plan for competing and training? How much time are you going to dedicate to achieve whatever goals to benefit from the new equipment? Is the current optics the holdback or could it be the ammo/rifle
combination?
Your question is too loaded to answer simply. I shoot smallbore silhouette and I recommend to newcomers to the sport to start with as much magnification
as they can handle and acquire as good as they can afford and then spend
as much time as they can behind the butt of the gun with systematic practice.
