I'm definitely a fan of 10mm longslides so here is another neat one. Wanstalls had one listed for a long time. I have to admit I was tempted but for whatever reason, I am hung up on having adjustable Bomar sights on my 1911s, the 2 tone wasn't totally working for me, it was pretty pricy, and I had never heard of that company before. In retrospect given the plummeting dollar, it was a great deal! On every 1911 I've owned, I've needed to make some sight adjustments to zero at 25 yards, but maybe I'm making too much of a big deal of it.

Whoa...that's pricey for sure...nice piece though. The Gunblast video is a blast [NPI].

I do wonder about durability, however. I never feel good thinking about that barrel link holding up to full-house 10mm loads, and so I'd hesitate to get a 1911 in this caliber. Still gonna hold out for a Sig 220 in 10mm...I swear I'm gonna buy the first one I see [in the configuration I want...].

Yes I've heard mixed views on the durability of the 1911 with full house 10mm ammo. Early Colt Deltas didn't seem to fair so well with the Norma loadings of 200 grs at 1200-1300 ft/sec. With modern 1911s/metallurgy, some guys don't think its a problem and shoot a steady diet of some pretty strong stuff. I keep mainly to average factory spec stuff so not much of an issue with me.

Yes that Sig 10mm is nice for sure (just wish they made it in a 6").

I had a delta elite that I had Jo Dlask build me and I fired many rounds through it. It was an absolute tack driver (it was accurate before I sent it to Jo and even more so after), and it showed no more wear then any other 45 or 9mm 1911 that I owned. I really think that talk of premature wear in 10mm 1911's is an interweb myth.

The problem the Delta Elites had was the cracking of the left frame rail, right above the slide stop where it catches the slide, the solution was to actually remove some material.

I've got close to 3000 rds through my Para long slide with no signs of excessive wear, most of those rounds have been my full power reloads.

newer versions have that section removed.
