When I was in university one of the guys brought me one of those. he was desperate to sell it for $125. It was the most beautiful workmanship I had ever seen. i did not have that kind of money. (Room rent was $30 a month).

Dad said no Luger was worth $125. I was sure it was. I have thought about that gun many times, since then.

I am now really sorry to find out how much it is worth.

I hope someone can find a picture. The commercial carbine is nothing like a military.
 
One of only two existing models in Canada. Only 2,500 of that model made in total.

Don't know the name of the book, but this particular pistol was used for the cover-shoot of a volume dedicated to rare Lugers. She's quite a piece.

Had a chance to handle her when she came into the store, and while $27.000 is STEEP, this example is in pristine condition, and is by far the very best example of any Luger pistol I have ever seen -- here or anywhere else for that matter.
 
Nice to know that the 02 carbine has increased in value, their is however more than two known examples residing in Canada, what is tough to find is the proper stock serialed to the pistol, many 02 carbines have 1920 carbine stocks, their is a difference in the checkering and the butt plates, also the swivel locations.

Know what you are buying gentlemen when contemplating the purchase of any expensive firearm.
 
DEFINITELY droolworthy..... and a most significant historical piece.

It would be really nice if we could get some photos up here.

If nothing else, it would help the fellows out on the West Coast. Used to be a number of fake Carbines out there, all built by local 'smith. They are pretty easy to spot if you know your stuff.

This one doesn't need spotting, but some serious drooling time might not come amiss.
