The bedding and barrel fit was one of the first things I checked on mine and seriously I am very satisfied.
Mine is fully bedded to the end of the forearm and I'm thinking that contributes in a big way to the rifles accuracy.
It is far and away the most consistently accurate 30-06 I have ever owned.... and I have had a bunch since the '60s, some really good shooters and some not quite so but my Forbes beats all I have had.
Several weeks ago I was at the range when another shooter admired it so I suggested that he shoot a group and he shot a 3-shot 0.55" group with my handload.
About half an hour later he made another similar group with a different load, again with my Forbes.
Now anytime a complete stranger can pick up a rifle he has never shot before and do that he is a damn good shooter and so is the rifle as far as I'm concerned.
I'm going to part with a lot of rifles very soon, but my Forbes is a keeper...
