G'day chaps (and chapesses)

Just got my hands on a Benelli MR-1, which is one very fine piece of kit and of course now I want to start accesorizing it.

Benelli make a forend triirail kit for it (like this) which appears to be identical to the Beretta CX-4 forend tri-rail (like this) except that the Benelli kit is twice as expensive.

Does anyone know if they are interchangeable? I gather the MR-1 and CX-4 are developments of the same basic weapon system so it stands to reason they would fit. For that matter why not buy the one that is sold for the CO2 version of the CX-4 storm?

Does anyone know where they can be found in Canada?

All advice and sensible comments gratefully received.

Cheers

They are interchangeable, exactly the same parts. The difference is the one for the CX4 comes with one rail and no mounting hardware. I bought the CX4 part from The Shooting Edge (Calgary) and used Chicago screws to fasten it on. Solid as can be.

Thanks Hit'r I think I will go with the CX-4 airgun version which I already know is identical to the CX-4 real firearm and is cheaper still.

Unless - does anyone know why the manufacturer says don't use the airgun part on the firearm - what is the worst that can happen?

Cheers and thanks

They probably worn about using it because they won't be able to sell a $5.00 part for a $130.00. It's only a piece of plastic so if it fits, what's the difference. The best one available is probably the aluminum one made by Houtes in the US and they ship to Canada. (And it's cheaper)

Plenty can be done with this rifle with a little patience and a few tools.
