Forge marked lower?

I was looking at a cheap US made AR today and noticed that both the Upper, AND the Lower had forge marks on them. Obviously we know uppers are forge marked, but have I been blind for 30 years, or is a forge mark on a lower (behind the trigger group area on the right side) a new thing? It was a Cerro keyhole mark for those curious.

Some do, some don't. I know my CC ones all do.

It's relatively new. I've only seen keyhole forge codes on lowers, not sure if others are doing it as well.

When I say relatively, my issued C8 was made in 2011 and it has it.

Not as common on the lower. Only 1 of my 3 AR's have the stamp on the lower
