After the passage of Bill C19, any forecasted troubles with the form 6?

I'm sure the ATF has some sort of reciprocity with the CFC to validate the information provided on the form, but how this will happen afterwards for our shotguns is unclear?

Any thoughts?

Funny was just thinking the same thing ,was wonder maybe I should get a new form 6 in now so i am good for this year anyways. That way maybe ATF will have things figuired out for following year.

Listing reg cert numbers on the form six wasn't for the benefit of the batf.
It was most likely a check/balance for the CFC's benefit...

When you submit your F6 you're in fact registering those guns with the batf... So really they don't need your ####ty Canadian registration info.

On the Canadian side it will revert to the preregistry requirements for taking a gun out of the country. What will happen is you'll need to get your guns verified by Canada Customs before leaving the country who in turn will issue a registration card with the make and serial number. This you would present on your return. As far as the Form 6 is concerned I guess it will be make, serial number and barrel length. They might also want to see the Canadian Customs card. Other than this who knows.

I'd hang on to your certificates so you have the numbers, just in case.

The form 6 form was just amended to include a space for email address so they can email your form 6 now.

I have always carried customs cards for my firearms anyway, so I have them.

It will be interesting to see what happens when the registry goes.

I am in Florida with 2 long guns and won't return until the end of April.

I get a new form 6 every 6 months, just in case.
