My opinion - you're GTG. It's just spare parts in your range bag. I've never had border services on either side look at anything other than the firearms listed on paper.

The Kadet conversion has a serial number on it. listed it on form 6 just be safe and there were no issues.

Do you have 22 ammo listed on your Form 6?

If not: you have an issue.

What issue...?
All that would mean is he can't bring any .22lr ammo into the USA.

They're not going to question/care why you have a certain firearm on your form, but not the corresponding ammunition.

What "i" have done in in the past when dealing with a similar situation is list the firearm twice... or three times it doesn't matter.
I listed 3 AR15's... Two of which were the same lower(the firearm) with different length uppers attached.

Never a prob.

So... OP could simply list his pistol once as a .40 and again as a .22lr.

I think this is going to be problematic. I had asked this question as it pertained to gun parts, specifically bringing an AR parts kit (springs and such) on a prairie dog shoot just in case. I was told that could become a problem as they are gun parts that were not on a form 6 so my legal possession and export (back to Canada) would be questionable.

If you do bring in the .22 kit I would suggest listing it on a form 6nia and see if they leave it on there or cross it out when they authorize it. Stuff they don't like they cross out....like my sks rifle (it was a test). :)

Thanks guys...turns out i don't have any .22 ammo listed on my form 6.....argh. 22 ammo is easier to get up here and might be even cheaper up this way. Was going to do some plinking.
