Form 6NIA question

You have been lucky, so far .... they didn't ask you the next question. I know of friends that have gone to Florida for four months in the winter and their invitation letter only covered them for three months. They had to come home, get a revised letter and go back the next day.

Every once in a while you run into a CBP inspector who is either in a bad mood or is just trying to be difficult. I deal with them a lot and unlike our own Canada Customs people, the CBP are very well versed in how commerce works. They recognize that having temporary visitors in their country is good for the economy and doesn't represent a threat so they won't try to discourage it. One issue they share with our own customs people is that the laws can be interpreted differently by different inspectors and of course there are inspectors that don't even know their own rules. On a whole I'd rather deal with CBP than our own customs people, they generally always seem more professional to me.

My experiences at the border have led me to believe there is little difference between the two. Most were just fine, others not so much.
