Format Change Due To Covid For Canadian Trapshooting Championships June 25-27/2021

Well it's all over now but the crying for some and rejoicing for others...:p Personally I had a few good scores mixed with some rather disappointing scores but we sure had a fantastic time. The shooting is only the second best part of the shoot when you shoot with the crew from SK. They know how to have fun and make the shoot a great social event. Saturday night we had what they call their annual Saskatchewan Soiree. Shooters and their families gathered after the shoot to celebrate the events and coming together again in the spirit of friendly competition with appetizers and beverages followed up with a pot luck supper with each shooter and their family bringing something to the table. It was nothing short of fantastic and after dinner a group of us gathered at a fellow shooters camper and sat around telling jokes, swapping stories of past shoots and other adventures. When it was dark my wife and I finally packed it in and headed back to our motel room to get some sleep for the final two events the following day. When the shooting was finished and the dust and smoke settled we packed the car with guns and gear, said our goodbyes, left a donation with the shoot cashier to give the trap help a tip and headed home. Though we still have one more shoot to attend this year on our agenda before packing it in for the season we are already looking forward to next years' Canadian Championships.
Here are the final results....and a few pics I took of the weekend.

How was the turnout in Swift Current ?

There was 33 shooters for the 400 Championship targets and 23 for fridays opening 3 events.

How was the weather is swift current?

There was some grumbling about the weather in Olds...

It was extremely windy, hot and hazy from forest fire smoke friday and saturday then sunday it turned cool and overcast with strong winds mixed with rain off and on. Conditions were not great that's for sure but the biggest struggle I endured was between my ears maintaining focus. The weather was not responsible for my missed targets! f:P:2:
