Fort St James moose hunting

Anyone hunt or have hunted in the Ft St James, bc area for moose or deer, and if so any luck or pointers on where to hunt? Thanks
 
I grew up in Fort St James and have hunted the entire area extensively! Its great up there! Not a lot of big deer but if you hunt hard you can find them. 7-25, 7-26, 7-27 and 7-28 all contain great moose hunting and there are hundreds of great lakes in the area if you are into fishing. South of fort st james there is a growing herd of elk and people have been having a lot of success the last few years. The town is #### but the area is paradise. Make sure you hit up the ZOO pup for a beer and a brawl.
 
Thanks for the info I think I'm heading up there this fall. Is there any hunting from stewart lake via boat?
 
The hunting on stuart lake isnt very good. Lots of shoreline and not a lot of moose to be seen. If you have a jet boat youd be better off heading north and hunting the rivers (tachie/middle river) or south down the stuart. its beautiful country up there. when are you making the trip? Ill be in a cabin on middle river late september early october.
