^^^ Yep!
Spring air guns, especially magnum springers (i.e. PAL rated) are known to beat up powderburner scopes! The first magnum airgun I owned (a Diana 48) damaged a decent powderburner scope after a number of shots.
When the trigger is pulled on a spring airgun, the piston/spring begin to travel forward, there is a slight recoil rearward, similar to a small caliber powderburner. When the piston/spring assembly hits the end of the airchamber and comes to a rapid stop, there is a substancial movement forward. This forward motion is what can damage powderburner scopes, as most were not designed to withstand the rapid forward movement.
C02, pre-charged pneumatics and pump up pneumatic airguns do not damage powderburner scopes, as they only recoil (slightly) rearward.
Hope this helps.
