next trip to the range I'm going to bring a cleaning rod with a swab and a tube of Traditions bore butter, my plan is to swab after every shot or so, so I can have a range session that goes for more than 4 rounds without accuracy going out the window, for the sake of interest, I have a 5 pack of 1950's Imperial slugs with the paper cases, the slugs (logically to me anyways) appear to have a coat of lube on them.

I've found that Brenneke style slugs with their much harder lead are a lot better when it comes to leading, more accurate too.

I put about 25 Winchester slugs through my 870 a couple weeks ago and it took about 30 minutes of scrubbing to get the lead out of the barrel when I got home. There was so much lead stuck in there it was hard to believe the last few shots even left the barrel.

T/C Bore Butter

I tried the exact same thing last summer. I was shooting my Win. 1200 with deer bbl, Carlsons RCT and Win. 1oz slugs.
I swabbed the bbl between shots and was able to obtain 3 shots touching at 50yds. Clean up was a bit easier too along with the aid of "Shooters Choice" Lead Solvent . I found the RCT really collected a good coating of lead.
I will continue shooting my Foster's this way ;)

I tried getting some T/C bore butter, but don't you know I tried ordering it through a US outfit - wat do you know it was restricted. - so I ended up with the Traditions Bore butter  It's too bad we can't get the Dixie slugs up here, they have some very interesting slugs available, look at this one:

It should be okay to post this link as we CAN'T ORDER FROM THEM.
