Hey guys,

I'm looking for a .22 semi-auto rifle. No, I don't know which one yet.

What I need it for doesn't matter yet (it's going to be shot...but you'll like what I plan to do with it!)

But it needs to have a receiver which is no more than 0.950" wide.

I would preffer detachable box magazine feed, but will consider tube-fed rifles too.

Barrel length needs to be at lest 18", longer is fine, it's going to be turned down a bit and fitted for the purposes of this project.

I don't care about looks, I don't care about condition, but I do care that the sear mechanism is connected to the receiver.

Accuracy is not an issue either....this is a fun shooter....groups will be measured in smiles, rather than inches.

Anyone have something crowding their gun-safe that might suit the bill?

Airsoft and machinists? Meh.

Nope....spent 45 minutes with Frank this afternoon, some chips will be flying over the weekend, and I'll go back the first of the week to refine things a bit.

:)

Wait for the videos!

Ah ha! I see you've learned how to keep this jackass in suspense....:) :)

Ok, I'm holding my breath until you tell me......

I have a Cooey 64b that might fit the bill, I'll have to check to see if it will meet your size specs, I suspect it is close.

Thanks Aulrich,

I've found one that fits pretty close, and the machinist has already spent a couple of hours at it....so far, it looks....well....like some machined metal!

More to follow, hopefully before the end of the week!

I already have 3 R/C tanks....two Panthers and a Tiger....arming them doesn't interest me....(not saying it wasn't considered in the past, but they're too damn small...25th scale for the Panthers, and the Tiger's in 35th scale....too small.)

Better than that.... :)

Stuka dive bomber. :D Now that would be cool.

Well, it's now back from the machine shop with the first coat of blueing on....in the white it looked REALLY sharp, but the lack of rust protection would have been *BAD* so a quick blue coat is on it. I have to re-do that with some steel wool tonight or tomorrow....probably tomorrow.

Ok,

So the single-round test firing went well today.

Fired around 15 rounds. Only problem was trigger reset, which has since been resolved.

So, now, I'm down to a short list of stuff to accomplish...

1. Leaf spring for rear sight. (cosmetic)
2. Cocking handle extension. (cosmetic)
3. Magazine feed/latch system. (Functional)

The top two are easy. Third, not so much.

I'll put some pics up now that I'm getting close....

Sweeeet......................How much did that cost you?

Think that Machinest could build a metal body kit for my Mg42 1022?
