Found a pile of once-fired brass!

on the right hand side of the pic is the bullets to reload your shells up, should get a nice bang out of them.
 
i wonder how many tonnes of gun powder was burned for them, I'd think at least an 8 pound jug per shell...
 
Some estimates put the number of artillery shells fired by the Allies in WW1 at over a billion...That averages well over 500,000 shells/day for 5 years fired by a variety of over 14,000 different types of cannon...Hell on Earth.

yeah and remember something like 10-20% didn't explode on impact. Hell of a mess
