I found a No4 MK2 with original dioptric sight aresenal rebarreled to 308 and made into a target rifle. How much are these worth nowadays, that the AIA got the new ones out?

There was a 7.62 conversion in the EE recently, with a service sight, not a target sight, listed at $600.

There was one at the Salmon Arm gun show last weekend in VG+ condition with Sterling mag and PH5C sights. $800, it didn't sell. bearhunter

the guy said it is officially rearsenaled .... I know nothing about Lees, (if you haven't figured out yet), but it looked nice enough to get my attention. the asking price was in the 700 range, more to the top . It didn't seem right to want so much for it, so I asked.... it even had the proper mag, but what do I know?

If the rifle was converted at Long Branch, there will be a mark on the receiver ring, and a serial number on the receiver ring and barrel breech. There will be no bayonet lugs. For a DCRA conversion, the proper magazine would be a .303 one, because the rifles were used for single shot, slow fire, prone target shooting. A 7.62 magazine could have been added later, but it would not have been part of the original conversion.

thank you Tiriaq. I wish I was a little Jonny Mnemonic so I can get more info in this spongy brain of mine. My wife liked the feel of a Lee we handled @ Epps. Everytime I annouce buying a new rifle she asks if it is "that one" I ought to get one.... righ after I solve the puzzle with the 22.

:( .... The one "Bearhunter" refers to, at the Salmon Arm 'Show would have come home with me if I had the money, and the vendor unfortunately, wasn't interested in any trades. Being on a fixed income sometimes really sucks ! ..... David K.
