For anyone interested...
Went to princess auto Ottawa today specifically looking for an inexpensive "pelican style" case my for handguns x2.
I was intrigued cuz another forum (I could not find to add this to) had several people reccomend princess auto for a pistol case.
Well they had all 3 sizes in stock... This one was $44.99. The medium 16 1/2" x 12 3/4". Center customizable foam.
Seems to be very nice quality and suits my two pistols perfectly. Trigger locks squeeze in there too.
You could probably accommodate 3 with a creative mind lol.
Hopefully I can save a few of you some cash:)

Cheers

Yep......I'm in......looks like I'm hitting town ....now how to get the gov to pay or it?...lol

I've had that size PA case for about 6 months now. It works well and seems to be good quality. You can fit four guns in if you pluck the foam and put them in front to back standing up on their butts. (That works for my semis but the 12 3/4" is too short to carry 6" revolvers that way)

I went to one of my local PA stores last Saturday ,but they had nothing.Might go for a drive to the other location and have a looksee.

Nice case for the money.

Not sure which PA you went to but I can confirm the Panet RD location only had the 22" one in stock as of yesterday.

Yessir ,Panet Rd was where I had gone ,but didn`t see anything.22 incher may be a little large ,but I`ll go check it out, could fit a few revolvers and semis in there plus mags etc.

I`ll go to the Portage Ave. store too.

Thanks

OK ,I just got back from the other Princess Auto location ,and found a similar case ,labelled as "ProPoint".This case is a little different ,a bit bigger and more foam layers. The case was marked as $129.99 on sale for $54 ,so I`m very pleased and very lucky, as it was the last one.

The case OD is 19 x 15 x 8 deep ,the ID is 17 1/2 x 13 1/2 x 7 1/2 deep.The case comes with 4 layers of foam ,2 @ 2 1/2 thick ,1 @ 1/2 thick and a 1 1/2 thick eggcrate foam layer.Comes with two sturdy latches (nice tight ,positive fit) with two lockable hole on the rim.

Overall the case is very well made and extremely sturdy !

I`m pretty happy with my score of the day.It should hold a good number of revolvers and semis as well as mags etc.

In case you want ,the product number is 8557183 ,although I`m not sure if it`s still stocked ? But they had the others that were mentioned here ,but I liked this one better for only $10 bucks more.

Cheers and thanks all for the info on these.

There was one on sale a couple of weeks ago here for $29 must have sold out quickly as there is only the Wood ammo crates for $19.99 and cheap rifle style gun cases for $14.00 bucks in the new flyer.

I was looking at the Wolverine site at Pelican cases ,then I looked at the case I bought at PA (as mentioned above) and it does indeed look to be the exact same unit ,I mean spitting image ,right down to the foam inserts and pick and pluck inserts !

Not sure if this was a one time item they had in stock and priced to sell ,but did I ever get lucky. The only difference was the Pro Point logo/badge on the lid.If it was a knock off or made for PA/Pro Point ,I don`t know ,but I`m pretty happy about the case and it`s size ,absolutely perfect.
