Found some interesting dies today

In the spirit of buying dies (and molds) before buying the corresponding rifle, I found myself unable to resist temptation (compulsion) and picked up these dies in a lot today. It seems that most of them are now out of production by RCBS. My name is BlackPowderBurner and I'm addicted to reloading equipment.

I hunted with an old 8mm-06 for a while. 150 grain Sierra and 47SB. Deer didn't get too far after taking one behind the front leg.

Send me a pm if you like, maybe I can help him out. I can't see myself reaming out my military mausers to "improve" them. The AI does seem like a dandy of a long range cartridge though.

I think the 8mm06 AI set may have been made in the 70's based on the machining style but the others post-date RCBS marking date of manufacture on the top. Did Mr. Ackley enjoy a following on the flatlands in those days?

I've owned a few, still have a 8mm-06 AI. Usually use 195 gr bullets in it. Works very well on big game. - dan

I made a 8mm06 out of an old Mauser and got my first black bear last spring with it 75m open sights 200gn bullets I think!

2 of those are things I have thought about, ha ha, not possible to do right now but the idea of them is great.
