I just can't believe what is hidden away in our closets and drawers and high shelves basement corners.
But, we've collected everything we took a liking to, for a great many years. And besides all my years of shooting and gun related activities, after WW2 I just loved to haunt the huge war surplus stores, in such places as New Westminster BC, and Calgary.
Thank goodness for the computer, as I can find some of my old holsters and other odds and ends like that, but once in a while comes something I can't find on the computer searches.
Such is the case with the huge military belt in the pictures.
Has anyone seen one like it?
The writing on the patch is actually clearer in the picture, than it is while looking at it directly.
Can any one see what country it is from?
We have to get rid of many of these things, so I have to figure out a reasonable price for them.
Any help?
Bruce

It looks like the nylon load bearing belts that would carry pouches and could have suspender attached. These were first issued in Viet Nam if memory serves correctly.

That one is in nice condition. Often as not, they are all chewed up but still serviceable. They are almost identical to those issued in WWII and Korea, other than that those were made of woven cotton.

Other than fire, knife, extreme abrasion, they are almost indestructible.

I saw a bunch of them in Chiliwack this spring. They went for $25 each or 3 for $60

I think there is one out in the looky shop.
Back in the days when I was scout'n for the green berets.
Or was that the red brigades.
Or the blue bonnets?

Dang, now I'm going to have to go find it.

.
Put it around your waist and buckle it up. Hang shoulder straps, basic pouches, canteen, bayonet, magazine pouches, first aid pouch, grenade pouch, pistol holster or anything else on it by using the holes all around.

I still have one that was Vietnam era with the original American "Y" harness on it (later the "H" type harness was used).

If this one is nylon, it is probably after Vietnam.
