I was looking for information about a "Fish in" I heard about last night at my gun club meeting, fisherman upset about MNR closing public access to certain lakes and only allowing outfitters to use them....found this but I'm not sure if it is directly related. Has anyone heard about this protest?
Public urged to provide input to Crown land access in Wawa District
MNR to hold open houses in five communities in late July
The Crown Land Use Atlas Harmonization Project (CLUAH) is a land use planning exercise that reviews the existing management direction for all provincial unregulated Crown lands in the Wawa District. The Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR) is seeking the public's review of Preliminary Management Options for area-specific land use policies that have been developed by the CLUAH Working Group and Steering Committee.
Importance for angling and hunting
The proposed policy changes have the potential to significantly influence Crown land activities such as angling and hunting. Make sure you take advantage of this opportunity to have your voice heard during public open houses and/or by submitting comments. The OFAH will post a summary of the key questions and concerns that anglers and hunters have regarding the proposed CLUAH options. This will be posted on the OFAH website (www.ofah.org) very soon.
Attend a public open house
In late July, the MNR will hold public open houses from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM in the following five communities:
Manitouwadge, Town Council Chambers Wednesday July 20, 2011
Hornepayne, Royal Canadian Legion Thursday July 21, 2011
White River, Royal Canadian Legion Tuesday July 26, 2011
Dubreuilville, Township Office Wednesday July 27, 2011
Wawa, Royal Canadian Legion Thursday July 28, 2011
At each open house, the MNR will deliver brief presentations at 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM. Members of the Working Group and Steering Committee will be present to help answer questions and discuss the CLUAH process and proposed policy options. There will be any opportunity to provide written comments.

If you are not able to attend an open house, the Preliminary Management Options can also be viewed at the MNR Offices listed below from 8:30 AM until 5:00 PM Monday through Friday. Please call the office to arrange a viewing of the documents.

The next steps...
Input received from this phase of public consultation will assist in the development of a draft amendment to the Crown Land Use Policy Atlas. Be sure to watch for the next stage of public consultation (inspection of the draft amendment), which is tentatively scheduled for late fall of 2011. The OFAH website (www.ofah.org) will provide details as they become available.
