From my understanding is the first line is his name and the year he was born, the second line would have been his unit, and the third line would have been his home address or the address of where he served?

EDIT: Looks like there is no record of his unit and instead it's just the address of where he lived.

This also came with the K31 when I bought it. Sadly it's in pretty rough shape.

Interesting update, I found the previous owner of the K31. He's originally from Switzerland and the rifle was issued to his father in law. The manual is original to the rifle and I am the third owner.

Oskar Meier? Now that is weird. I would suggest it's legit though....and certainly an address as stated. This is how I've seen many of them.

I was told when I bought mine to look under the butt plate as I would find the original owner. This was a standard thing to do in Switzerland.I found his name etc

Took the K31 for some test shots. Loaded up the mag, set the rear sight to 300 and after a couple shots figuring out how much front sight to use, I was ringing the 300 yard gong with ease. Not bad for a rifle it's age using surplus ammunition :d
