Four prong flash hider vs Bird cage

It's all about the old 3-prong ;)

I've never noticed any difference during the day between the two, but at night the A2 did give a bit more flash upward than the 4-prong did all around, but that's kind of inherent in the design.

If you check out the flash hider comparison, the 4 prongs do perform better than the 3 prongs but not many people have 4 prongs currently. The top contenders were the JP ent. Which have been discontinued, and the B E Meyers 4 prong which is next to impossible to find.

Does the four prong provide any flash suppression advantage over the bird cage? Or is the good ol A2 birdcage do it all?

Not during the day time, but at night you can see sparks coming out from the birdcage in semi auto with bare eyes..

Under NOD and thermal imaging from a shooter perspecitve , you can definitely see flash from bird cage but it is not white enough to shut it down. NOD equipped shooter will not see anything with an effective pronged suppressor at all.
