Looking for an affordable electronic call (with remote) that I plan to use exclusively for coyotes. The cheapest Foxpro I could find was the Deadbone model, 15 preset sounds with no option to add any more. Has anyone used this particular model? Not too many reviews for it online.

Looks to be pretty much the same as a spitfire, only you can't change the sounds and the remote is different.....

FWIW, I have been fairly successful with my spitfire and it is plenty loud enough for Ontario..... I would look to buy a used spitfire off of someone that was upgrading before I bought this.....

I'm sort of in the same boat as yorgi and saw this Deadbone on Cabelas too. I doubt I'd need more programmed sounds as I wouldn't likely use it that much, so am interested in specific comments from owners/users. Wondering about maximum volume, operating distance of the remote, battery life, programmed sounds authenticity, etc.

I am a Foxpro owner and huge fan but I'd look at some of the Primos e-callers if you are looking for a budge caller.
Primos seem to have good reviews.

Here's a timely review by Outdoor Life magazine on several budget ecallers. Their $US pricing will make you grumble considering how we get ripped off in Canada and the Canuck buck being in the toilet on top of that, but if you can find any of these in Canada (or if you are tripping in the USA soon), they might be worth a look/listen.

Not that e-callers are bad things to have, but for cheap hand calls are great and add another dimension to calling predators. Just saying.

Point taken. I'm just starting out and plan to learn as I go, including adding some mouth calls.

Thanks for the advice! The Spitfire is on special on both the CDN and US Cabelas sites and only about $50 more than the Deadbone....decisions....

A good option and certainly much cheaper, thanks.

Excellent link thanks! Like you said however, the exchange rate sucks plus the availability in Canada for all but one (the Primos) is non-existent.
