I'm looking at a Spanish FR-8, what are they worth? The one I'm looking at has a mint bore, the metal finish if fine (not perfect) but the stock has been painted brown which would have to come off.

Any comments on quality, accuracy, quirks, etc about these rifles?

Most people who have them like them. They seem to be well regarded as reliable, fun rifles

$250-300 IMHO

You're taking a chance that the "paint" will come off without a trace, and without a lot of work and sanding. If it was the original finish, I'd say $300-350.

I've seen them as low as 150 for a beater, up to 350 for a minty one. I picked one up for 175 with perfect metal, but the owner had put on a recoil pad and a varathane finish on the wood. Shoots very well, nice handling fun rifle. A little heavy for it's size, but that keeps the recoil down a bit so all is well.

I have one which has perfect parkerizing, a really nice stock, and is in original unaltered condition. I paid $350 for it, and really like it.

Great fun guns! Accurate and very shootable, with very useable sights.

I seem to see them in good shape for around $300.
