Hi!
Following a trade, I'm contemplating the possibility of rebarrelling an MAS-36 receiver in .308 Winchester or military 7,62x51 NATO specs and recreating an FR-F1 ersatz or, at least, a working look-alike.

Has someone on this board already done it and if so, what are the pitfalls I should avoid?
I'll need a heavy profile .308 pre-chambered barrel. The receiver will be machined to accept an FR-F1 repro scope mount. The only thing: I can't find the auxiliary collapsible front sight so I'll make do with a plain, bare barrel.
I can get the wood from friends in France. Maybe the bipod also.
PP.
