Yes, I have seen those engravings in the past. In fact, I've owned a few myself and currently have one in my Franchi 48 inventory. Its not all that rare but not very common. The gold inlay is not factory, it was added by a previous owner. That gun will likely be a mid 50's manufacture. The buttpad is also an aftermarket add on

Thanks! I appreciate your comment. I have used several products to do inlays in most of my guns. I find that gold nail polish to produce the best results. It also seems to last for a long time!! Perhaps its the enamel in them. Not quite sure but the weather seems to have no effect on it.
Make sure you use acetone-free nail polish remover when you wipe away the remaining polish. Do it slowly and lightly and it will come out great.
